The Summercore Team is now offering one and two-day workshops on a variety of tech integration topics. Taught by our team of experienced educators, these workshops will provide hands-on, practical experience to bring back to your classrooms.
iPads from Start to Finish
#1: June 25-26, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. **CLOSED**
#2: July 2-3, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
This workshop will focus on using the iPad and iOS tools for publishing digital text and media. Participants will learn about one of Apple's newest applications iBooks Author, software that allows you to combine your course materials including text, movies, images, graphs, tables, animations, and more into an eBook that will display on the iPad. Participants will look at some of the Apps on the iPad to publish multimedia content such as Scribble Press, Toontastic, VoiceThread, PuppetPals HD, iStopMotion, and My Story, video editing tools and Apps for creating tutorials to be used in the "flipped classroom." The topics covered are relevant for teachers of all grade levels and all subjects.

Everything You Wanted to Know about Google Apps for you and your students
June 27-28, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
This workshop will focus on incorporating Google Apps into your classroom as a tool for collaborative work. Google Apps can revolutionize the classroom with its ability to facilitate collaborative learning and student engagement. Participants will have hands-on experience with Google Docs (documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and forms), Google Sites, and Google Calendar; more important, they will return to their classrooms with a wealth of sound pedagogical strategies for integrating Google Apps into their curriculum. We will focus on the collaborative tools: sharing settings, viewing settings, revision history, collections, inserting comments, back channel chatting and simultaneous data entry. More experienced users will learn spreadsheet skills useful for data analysis and strategies for using Google Sites as the perfect tool for creating a webquest. Pedagogical and practical strategies for implementing Google Apps in the collaborative classroom will be the major theme. The topics covered are relevant for teachers of all grade levels and all subjects.

Designed for Middle and Upper School teachers, this workshop will focus on the best Web 2.0 sites, strategies for integrating Google Apps for collaborative learning, social media and its place in the curriculum, and uses of multimedia for digital storytelling and assessment.

The SMART Board: Going Beyond the classroom whiteboard
June 29: 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. **CLOSED**
This workshop will focus on stretching the limits of your SMART Board use by creating lesson plans using the Notebook software, developing interactive activities with the Activity Toolkit, and learning Tips and Tricks for more successful SMART Board use.
