Typical problems and interpretations of codes

(1) means 1 or more bugs regarding use of smart quotes within web page
(2) means you did not find at least 3 web links to good web pages
(3) means you did not find at least 3 graphics to illustrate topic
(4) means you did not include one or more of these items -- teacher name, school name, student year of graduation, etc
(5) indicates typos, spelling mistakes or punctuation problems
(6) indicates no inclusion of sources
(7) indicates that web links should be descriptive and informative with your language rather than showing the underlying web addresses; the text for each web link should be varied and descriptive
(8) indicates that you need to avoid ALL CAPS which is usually used on the web and e-mail for SHOUTING
(9) indicates one or more web links do not work!
(10) CAPIQ rules means commas and periods INSIDE quotes
(11) proper nouns deserve leading capital letters
(12) stray characters found on your web page
(13) when you cite a book, you need to give complete information, e.g.
one author
Frye, Northrup. Anatomy of Criticism: Four Essays. Princeton: Princeton UP, 1957.
(14) too much is centered
(15) ordered or unordered list is out of alignment or has HTML problems
(16) better descriptions needed for the links
(17) color problem with text, since you made all text blue which is the natural color of the links; therefore links are not easily recognizable
(18) minimal writing on topic
(19) something strange in placement of your quotes in an ordered or unordered list - check the colors
(20) background is wonderful but makes text hard to read; only way to compensate is to use h1 and bold text throughout - bold and large
(21) picture too big .. it takes TOO LONG to load on a modem; 800K fits on a one-hole disk, while 1400K fits on a two hole (high density) disk. If a graphic on the web is bigger than 20K or 30K, then it takes too long for most modem users to load.
(22) faulty HTML codes (perhaps leaving the anchor text blank) makes it appears as if there is no more writing on your web page
(23) incorrect HTML codes make incorrect info appear blue
(24) lack of carriage returns (P or BR command) is causing text to be squeezed together
(25) please avoid two spaces between sentences
(27) indicates that this page has been recently re-posted at end of April and will be evaluated in CP4 class by computer teacher and CP4 teacher or it will be evaluated by actual History teacher
(28) indicates a "perfect" page as far as computer codes and HTML codes; 28 is a "perfect" number since its factors below itself are 1,2,4,7 and 14 which add up to 28. One other perfect number exists below 100 and one other perfect number exists between 400 and 500.
(33) means approval has been made by history teacher for content and quality of writing
