Roe v Wade
In Texas about 1973, Norma McGorvey "Roe" was thinking about aborting her unborn child. She was denied by the Texan law that stated that she couldn't. She sued the state and the case went to the Supreme Court. The court ruled 7-2 that women had an unrestricted right to abort their fetus during the first trimester of pregnancy, but anytime after the trimester, the state had the right to protect the baby (fetus) by not allowing women to get an abortion after a certain ammount of time. This controversial topic still exists today and may always exists.
