After the Civil War in the small town of Pulaski, TN, six men created a group that would change the course of the United States forever. On Christmas eve, 1865 this innocent club was formed. The purpose at first was for pure entertainment. There was no particular target, just young men out looking for a good time. With Southerners still feeling strongly against the Blacks it did not take long for this society to change its focus and begin its cruel treatment of Blacks. Intimidation tactics were used to keep Blacks from feeling comfortable in the new society of the South.

Once word began to get around about what the K.K.K was all about, it did not take long for new "dens" to pop up all over the south. This secret society was a nightmare for the freedom of Blacks. Their lives were constantly in jeopardy. The members of the Klan were very superstitious and were firm believers in rituals. The initiation process was quite an ordeal. They would bring the candidate to an abandoned barn and ask them senseless questions, not really pertaining to anything. Before finally being accepted as a member, the candidate had to take an oath that he was sworn to secrecy about the club, its rituals, and its members.

Yes, it is true that I know Rick Pitino and that I am going to try over spring break to get an autograph that says "Dear Steve: I am sure that success with computers is a choice as well. Good Luck at Nobles. Rick"
