My famous woman is Martha Washington. She was born in 1732 and died in 1802. Before she married George Washington, she lived in New Kent County, Virginia, and once married to hime, in the Whitehouse: Washington, DC. Her main contribution to society was that she entertained a lot once she became Washington's wife, and she was known as a gracious hostess.

Interesting facts about her were that:

1. she was the wife of George Washington
   
2. she was the daughter of a prosperous planter
   
3. she was married at age 17 to a very wealthy planter in Virginia, Daniel Parke Curtis
   
4. she married Washington in 1759, after Curtis's death
   
5. she often times shared camp life with Washington during the American Revolution.
