The first airplane was made of two large wings, two smaller wings, some wooden poles, some wire, and two propellers. The larger wings were placed one above the other with about seven feet between them. They were attached by wooden poles and pieces of wire. These wings stretched forty feet from tip to tip. Behind the wings in the back of the plane was the propellers. They were powered by a small light weight gasoline motor that was placed next to the pilotıs seat. In front of the larger wings were two smaller wings. They were attached to the main body of the plane by four wooden poles. There was about two feet apart and the bottom wing lined up with the bottom big wing. The plane had a length of 21ft and a wingspan of 40ft. The wings had a frame made from wooden poles. Thick yellow cloth was wrapped around the frame to make wings. The Wright brotherıs first flight lasted for 12 seconds and traveled about 120ft. The Flyer was invented by Wilbur and Orville Wright in NC. The first flight took place on December 17, 1903. The plane was invented out of curiosity and then later developed for stunts and joy rides. It was not until later that the airplane was adapted to war and to transportation. The Wrights first started fantasizing about in their bike shop. They soon became more interested and began to read any book on flight that they could find. They invented there first plane out of curiosity and fiddling, but there little invention made a huge impact on travel and transportation in the world today.
