• Barbara McClintock

  1. This is a text that explains the genetic contributions of Barbara McClintock, who died last year. She discovered that some genes actually move around the genome, which she labeled as "jumping genes". She worked at a time when women could not/did not/were not allowed to hold university positions in science. She was invited to work at Cold Spring Harbor Labs, and spent most of her career there.
